Council Representative Holds Side Meetings at CSW69 to Promote Women’s Role in Advancing Tolerance and Peace

New York, March 2025 — On the sidelines of the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), the representative of the Norwegian Council for Tolerance and Peace held several side meetings with women’s organizations and civil society representatives.
The discussions focused on strengthening the role of women in promoting tolerance and peace, and on integrating these values into their advocacy and community programs. The meetings also explored opportunities for cooperation and joint initiatives to advance gender equality and foster sustainable peace in line with the goals of the United Nations.
Through these engagements, the Council emphasized its commitment to empowering women as key partners in building inclusive societies and promoting a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
