The Norwegian Council for Tolerance and Peace expresses its profound concern over the escalating military activities across the Middle East, which pose a grave and immediate threat to regional and international stability.
From a deeply humanitarian and global perspective, we unequivocally call for the immediate cessation of all forms of military operations. The continuation of armed conflict not only endangers innocent civilian lives but also undermines the fundamental principles of human dignity, coexistence, and sustainable peace.
We emphasize that the consequences of ongoing hostilities extend far beyond national bordersโfueling displacement, deepening humanitarian crises, and threatening the fragile fabric of international security. In such critical times, the protection of civilians, especially women and children, must remain an absolute priority.
The Council urgently calls upon all parties to uphold their obligations under international law and to return to the guiding principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nationsโprinciples rooted in dialogue, mutual respect, tolerance, and peaceful resolution of disputes.
We reaffirm that peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice, understanding, and shared humanity. Now, more than ever, the world must unite in rejecting violence and embracing diplomacy as the only viable path forward.
The Norwegian Council for Tolerance and Peace stands firmly with all efforts aimed at de-escalation, reconciliation, and the promotion of a just and lasting peace for all peoples of the region.
