On the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, the Norwegian Council for Tolerance and Peace joins the global community in honoring the memory of those whose lives were tragically taken or forever altered by acts of violence, hatred, and extremism.
Terrorism in all its forms remains a profound threat to international peace, security, and fundamental human rights. Beyond the immediate destruction, it leaves lasting trauma on families, communities, and societies worldwide. Today, we stand in solidarity with survivors and victims’ families, reaffirming that their resilience and voices are vital in building a more peaceful world.
Addressing the root causes of extremism requires a collective commitment to promoting human rights, rule of law, and inclusive dialogue. Education, justice, and community empowerment serve as the strongest shields against violence and intolerance.
The Norwegian Council for Tolerance and Peace remains steadfast in its mission to foster mutual understanding, defend human dignity, and promote peaceful coexistence globally. We call upon governments, international institutions, and civil society to strengthen support mechanisms for victims and ensure that justice, empathy, and peace prevail over division and hate.
