Vienna, 8 October 2025
The Norwegian Council for Tolerance and Peace participated in the Constructive Dialogue on Trafficking in Persons 2025, convened by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at the Vienna International Centre, with hybrid participation both in person and online.
The Dialogue brought together Member States, United Nations agencies, and accredited civil society organizations to discuss global efforts to combat human trafficking, strengthen victim protection mechanisms, and enhance international cooperation to prevent and eliminate all forms of trafficking in persons.
Representing the Council, delegates highlighted the importance of a victim-centered and human rights-based approach in addressing human trafficking, emphasizing the need for stronger international frameworks, accountability, and rehabilitation programs for survivors.
The Council reaffirmed its commitment to advancing tolerance, peace, and social justice, and to working collaboratively with international and regional partners to promote awareness, strengthen legal safeguards, and combat the root causes of human traffickingโsuch as poverty, inequality, and armed conflict.
The participation of the Norwegian Council for Tolerance and Peace in this high-level dialogue reflects its ongoing engagement with the United Nations system and its active role in promoting human dignity, protection, and global solidarity.
